Vounteer in Watamu
We are very excited to be partnering with A Rocha in Watamu, Kenya. A Rocha is an international Christian Charity that specialises in conservation and community outreach programmes.
Enviroment
Watamu is a coastal location on the Indian Ocean in Kenya. The setting is a tropical beachside town, famous for marine parks and conservation areas.
Accommodation
You will stay at Mwamba, A Rocha's guesthouse which is on the shore, overlooking the Indian Ocean. The accommodation is very comfortable with communal areas to chat and play games in the evening.
A Rocha would like us to build some water tanks for rural communities, training local people in this skill. There is currently a huge demand for water tanks with the ongoing drought.
There is also the opportunity to get involved in some sports lessons at a local school as well as teach health lessons. You can also take part in ringing of the birds.
